Building an Ageless House
Cris Hardaway explores the idea of Building an Ageless House by the use of a concept known as universal design. Linda Ryerson, President of AARP, the media, government officials and others attend the grand opening of a Raleigh home contest winner, designed around this concept. The project began a national dialogue among architects and designers about aging in place using at least one zero-step entry, minimum 32 inch doorways and at least a half bath on the main floor.
